Developer Blog from Mike Irving - Trolley Makers UK website - rescued from the deep
3/2/2008 - Trolley Makers UK website - rescued from the deepI have recently revived an old website for Trolley Makers UK, a Trolley Manufacturing company ran by a family friend.
Their old website had been online 7 years, but had fallen into dis-repair for a number of reasons.
The old website was written in Microsoft Frontpage 5, so the HTML Markup was just awful. Text had been rendered as graphics, inhibiting the ability of Search Engines to know what the site was about, and popup images were referencing 3rd party webspace that is no longer in use.
I have re-made the site as a clean and simple to use XHTML Strict website.
All the text is know actually text, and Ihave made neccesary changes to aid Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
As a result, Trolley Makers UK should start to receive a more steady and targeted chunk of search traffic, and may actually result in a sales call!
