UTM Grid Ref Compass gives a smartphone user their current position using the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) geographic coordinate system.

Working worldwide, the app will also give WGS84 Latitude and Longitude values, and specify the current Hemisphere (Northern or Southern).

A primary market for the app is the USA, so a handy guide to the United States UTM Zones is included in the application.

The UTM data can be shared using Twitter (iPhone only), Email or Text Messaging (SMS or Apple iMessage).

For extended usage or map reading, the Phone LCD can be set to stay on, from the Settings screen of the app.

An internet connection is not required to use this software.

The app is only compatible with iPhone and Android Smartphone models that have GPS capabilities. Additionally, the Compass will only function if the Device has a Hardware Magnetometer (Compass).
